Kelsey and Ricky are a joy to be around. Their love for each other is obvious, and their chemistry is so natural that photographing them never felt like work.
On June 21, 2026, I had the honor of documenting their Pennsylvania wedding. We made their portraits at Valley Forge National Historical Park, then celebrated with a ceremony and reception at Malvern Preparatory School.
One love story, two weddings
Kelsey and Ricky’s wedding story is beautifully unique. They have family in Canada, so they chose to celebrate twice: once in Canada for their families up north, and once here in their home state of Pennsylvania.
That way, the people they love on both sides of the border got to be part of it. This post is the Pennsylvania chapter.
Wedding portraits at Valley Forge
We made their portraits by the old barn at historic Valley Forge. The park is one of the most storied landscapes in the Philadelphia area, and the barn gives Valley Forge wedding photos a rustic, timeless backdrop.
With a couple this comfortable together, my job is simple: find good light, give a little direction, and let them be themselves. Kelsey and Ricky made that easy.
[Vlad: add one specific moment from the portrait session here, such as a laugh, a quiet minute, or a favorite frame.]
A Malvern Prep wedding ceremony and reception
From Valley Forge we headed to Malvern Preparatory School, where Kelsey and Ricky held both their ceremony and their reception. They were surrounded by their closest friends and family, and you could feel it in the room.
Having the ceremony and reception in one place meant less time in the car and more time with the people who came to celebrate them.
[Vlad: add where on campus the ceremony took place and one detail you remember from it.]
Great food and a packed dance floor
Dinner came from The Clean Plate Club, a chef-driven food truck and catering team from Abington, PA.
Then the party started, and it was amazing. Sound Sensations DJs played hit after hit and kept everyone on the dance floor. For a photographer, that is the best kind of reception: real joy everywhere you point the camera.

Thank you, Kelsey and Ricky
Kelsey and Ricky, thank you for trusting me with your Pennsylvania celebration. Two weddings, two countries, and one couple who made every minute of it fun. Congratulations to you both.
